چکیده

The spectral efficiency of single-cell DSCDMA systems deploying higher order modulation schemes is investigated for the downlink in presence of fading channels. Therefore, the asymptotic analysis (AA) is evaluated for random and orthogonal Haar distributed spreading codes to obtain the signal-to-interference-andnoise ratio (SINR) after the optimal and a suboptimal linear MMSE detector. An extension to the AA is proposed for both receiver structures to include the intersymbol interference, which is shown by means of simulations to significantly improve the results for multipath fading channels. Based on the extension, the SINR can be used in conjunction with measures of the information theory to determine the spectral efficiency of the system. For modulation and coding at the cut-off rate the tradeoff between multi-code transmission and higher order modulation is investigated. Furthermore, an efficiency comparison between the suboptimal and the optimal LMMSE is conducted.

Design of MMSE multiuser detectors using random matrix techniques

Reduced-rank MMSE receivers using asymptotic weights reduce receiver complexity while maintaining good performance in long-sequence DS-CDMA systems. In this paper, we analyze such receivers in multipath fading channels and extend their design to multicarrier CDMA (both uplink and downlink). An explicit expression is obtained for the asymptotic eigenvalue moments of the interference autocorrelat...

Combined space-time chip equalization and parallel interference cancellation for DS-CDMA downlink with spatial multiplexing

In the downlink of traditional Single Input Single Output (SISO) DS-CDMA systems, multipath propagation destroys the orthogonality of the user signals and causes Multi-User Interference (MUI). Chip equalization can restore the orthogonality and suppress the MUI. In the context of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) DS-CDMA systems, spatial multiplexing emits independant data streams from the ...

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

Mc/ds-cdma versus Sc/ds-cdma in Mobile Radio: Spectral Efficiency Approach

The spectral efficiency of a multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (MC/DS-CDMA) cellular system operating in a mobile radio environment with Rayleigh fading, is investigated. In this work, spectral efficiency is evaluated in terms of channel capacity (in the Shannon sense) per user, estimated in an average sense. It is analytically shown that, under normalized conditions an...
